Just wanted to let everyone know that after three short weeks participating in the Home Maintenance Inspection Marketing Program, I have booked 3 HMI's.

I have distributed about 300 hangers in the past three weeks, and have booked three Maintenance Inspections as a direct result. I have not had time to do a large or mass distribution of the hangers. However, every home inspection that I conduct, I take about 10 to 15 minutes afterwards and distribute about 20 to 30 hangers in the neighborhood where the house is located.

I paid 350.00 dollars to get 4000 hangers printed, and I have booked three inspections at 299.00 each, which is a total of 897.00. In three short weeks I have already made a net profit of 547.00. This may not seem like much, but I still have 3700 more door hangers to distribute.

Furthermore, I have an appointment next week with a representative of a local ?Merchandiser? publication about a HMI ad that will reach over 21,000 homes in my territory. The half page add is only going to cost me 495.00.

Home and auto shows are a great way to get leads. I do them every chance I get. I will sometimes get extra passes and give to clients, so I know I have people there that know my work.

It is an easy way to start an online business. But most newbies have difficult generating traffic.

Write great articles. Then submit them to as many social bookmarking sites and articles sites as possible. Try to write something either really helpful or really controversial.

I use a few social networking sites to put up information about my websites, but mostly this just serves to remind my friends/family to check out the pages - nothing really beyond that.

Althougt we cannot dispute the popularity of social networking, I think it would be very difficult to convert your products and services into sales, most people are into social networking to have contact with friends and relatives.

Writing articles and submitting them through the article submission sites is one of the best ways to promote your website. I think that for building traffic and general awareness about your site the only ways I can think to beat it is to use some form of viral marketing or better yet, create a controversary around your site that is some compelling that you get national media attention.
